It was the first time, when Ukrainian Modern Art was presented in Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, USA) – one of the biggest museums in the world.
The presentation of works by Lobortas and Karpova Classic Jewelry House took place on 19-th of June. The name of collection presented in the Hall of Egyptian Art of Metropolitan Museum was “The Gravitation of Love”. It had tremendous success among the Exhibition visitors.

The presentation of works by Lobortas and Karpova Classic Jewelry House took place on 19-th of June. The name of collection presented in the Hall of Egyptian Art of Metropolitan Museum was “The Gravitation of Love”. It had tremendous success among the Exhibition visitors.
American VIPs and celebrities, who visited the event, were exited about Lobortas&Karpova works of art and appreciated the new style and its founders a lot.
Among those, who visited presentation of “Gravitation of Love” Collection, were NY mayor Michel Bloomberg. Canada, Argentina and San-Marino ambassadors, the UNO representative of Ukraine, businessmen like E. Trump and others.
Igor and Irina (as leaders of Ukrainian jewelry Art) got a special certificate on recognition of Lobortas&Karpova artistic achievements and as a sign of appreciation for enriching the cultural life of New York with the revolutionary exhibit. The certificate presentation was led by UNO representative, NY mayor Michael Bloomberg, Marina Kovalyov, the President of Russian American Foundation, Scott Stringer, the President of Manhattan Borough. After the ceremony Igor and Irina were invited to the mayor’s reception by Michael Bloomberg personally.
The refined exposition was very interesting for mass-media. For instance, Daily News paper wrote about the event in this way: “As followers of Ukrainian avant-garde leaders (such as Kandinsky, Malevich, Arkhipenko, Radchenko etc.) modern Ukrainian artists have presented new style – Romantic Avant-Garde, which can be already considered as classical one. The Gravitation of Love collection has finished the Third World Jewelry Collection (the First was Easter eggs by Faberge, the second – Magic Clocks by Cartier)! It consists of “de luxe” jewelry, precious sculptures and classical golden jewelry with enamels. It is modern hand-made works of art, made according to old school principles. They have no copies or analogues”. Several NY papers dedicated their first lines to this special event.
Unique pieces of art had been demonstrated for more than 3 weeks in one of the most prestigious exhibition centers of New York - National Arts Club. The jewelry exhibition was a part of “Our Heritage” Festival organized by Russian American Foundation. The main object of the exhibition has become a sculpture “Gravitation of Love”, jewelry collection “My Dear Dior” (dedicated to Christian Dior works and life) and enamel collection “Your Eden”, which was at high demand in America.
American visitors not only appreciate Ukrainian jewelry a lot, they also admit that all pieces look fashionable; their design is refined and romantic. Seeing such great success organizers decided to prolong the exhibition in spite of the fact that it had never happened before. Inexhaustible interest of American people has confirmed that Romantic Avant-Garde founders are true artists, who create masterpieces, which has no analogues.
The exhibition in New York has demonstrated high level of Ukrainian artists’ works. It showed that jewelry from Ukraine can be a part of the world jewelry heritage.
