Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovych received equal number of votes – 39,6% each, according to the results of the parallel vote count by the Committee of Voters of Ukraine. Oleksandr Moroz received – 5,6% of votes, Petro Symonenko – 5,3%.

Project Manager Yevhen Poberezhny informed that the polling stations were randomly chosen for the parallel vote count. In general, 1500 of polling stations were included in the vote counting project, they represented equally polling stations in villages and cities as well as polling stations for ‘closed audience’.

2000 people were involved in the project. CVU observers worked during voting and vote counting at all mentioned polling stations. The results of the parallel vote count were formed on the basis of the minutes of local electoral commissions. Study error for the main candidates makes 1,8%.
