`We badly need a unified voters register’, said Serhiy Tihipko, head of the V. Yanukovych’s headquarters. According to Mr. Tihipko, most problems arose with voters’ lists. ‘It doesn’t concern some concrete regions, it is throughout Ukraine’, said Mr. Tihipko.

`The conclusion is that we badly need a unified voters register. It is necessary that lists be formed not from elections to elections, but systemically and consistently, and that government agency trace the movement of people’, emphasized Mr. Tihipko.

According to him, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading the Law on Unified Voters Register. ‘It is necessary that this Law be finally passed in order to ensure the functioning of the Unified Register a year or a year and a half before Parliamentary elections in 2006’, said Mr. Tihipko.
